When making changes to your lifestyle sometimes you need to make adjustments. This same rule applies when bringing a pet into your home. And if you already have a four legged family member, you know it’s never too late to start.
Pets are a great addition to the home adding exercise, love, fun, laughter, and most importantly health and happiness
And sometimes they tend to add a little more…. Like muddy paws on the carpet or fur on the couch. Setting your home up with easy to clean furniture is not as hard as you might think.
Carpet or Hardwood Floors?
I have been told by many of my pet loving friends that hard wood floors come in handy when it comes to cleaning up pet hair. I prefer carpet, and that’s ok too. When choosing colors for your home, especially carpet and furniture, choose a color that would blend with your pets coat, so hair doesn’t stand out if it happens to get on the furniture.
Rugs are great. Get cheaper rugs that can easily be replaced, and invest in a good vacuum that caters to pets.
Furniture
When it comes to furniture, leather is the first to come to mind. Very durable, wipes clean, and you can usually rub out any scratches. A great idea when choosing furniture. Among many other very creative ideas for putting together a pet friendly home.
And remember to keep those nails trimmed!
Choosing A Pet, The Many Different Breeds.
Choose the right pet for your home. Adopt an adult pet that’s already trained to avoid chewing or soiling. Or talk to a trainer BEFORE adding a puppy to your home. Or vet before adding a cat.
All pets tend to shed a little bit, though some shed less than others. Always do your research to know what to expect of certain breeds. Both dog and cat.
Staying Ahead Of The Shed.
Of course you can always have that shaggy dog you dreamed of, just know how to manage it. Things can be easy once you get into a routine. But it’s something you need to stick with.
Always stay ahead of the shed by using the right tools and routine. This will keep shedding to a very minimal amount.
Owning a pet can be the best decision you ever made, if you plan ahead. They bring so much love and energy to your life.
There are so many wonderful pets waiting for a new forever home.
