A Florida man spoke out after the tragic loss of his dog “O.G.” As just the day before, they had spent hours at the beach. The following day his “best friend was dying of saltwater poisoning.” says the report from WDSU News. And there have been others to fall ill since.
When it’s hot out we often hit the beaches, pools, and lakes, anything to cool off.
And as dogs are family , they often go too.

This includes salt water pools. While salt water pools may not contain as much salt, it still has enough to cause damage. Especially to pets with existing liver or kidney problems.

Drinking from a well maintained chlorine pool is harmless, although in large consumption may cause upset stomach. It should never be a main source of water.
