Getting rid of weeds and dry brush is doing your part to help with fire prevention.  It will also help keep those little varmints and snakes from hiding in the yard with your pets. Make sure to keep the yard clear of piled wood or things that critters might want to hide under too.  A clean yard is a safe yard.
