Don’t find yourself in this situation, keep tinsel and ornaments on the tree and AWAY from pets.

Prevent fires.
When purchasing a tree shake off all the dead needles, keep your tree hydrated, and use a timer for lights.

Be sure to keep all lighted candles out of reach, or purchase some battery operated lights for the holidays.  Amazon has a great selection.
